A Journey of Excellence: Our History

1962: Humble Beginnings

Established by Mr. Paruchuri Hanumantha Rao with a modest investment of ₹6,000, Pragati was driven by a simple philosophy: “Is the customer happy?” This ethos has guided its journey to success.

Technological Milestones

  • 1979: Introduction of South India’s first phototypesetting machine, revolutionizing typesetting practices.
  • 1985: Acquisition of India’s first fully computer-controlled 5-color printing machine, paving the way for national expansion.
  • 2000: Entry into packaging with Pragati Pack, serving markets for cartons, blister packs, and later, labels and rigid boxes.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Pragati became the first company outside North America and Europe to win the SAPPI International Printer of the Year award in 2006, repeating the feat in 2008 and 2010.
  • Over the decades, Pragati has amassed numerous AIFMP Awards, Print Week accolades, and global recognitions.

Expansion and Modernization

  • 1996: Relocation to a 40,000 sq. ft. facility in Red Hills, introducing advanced technologies like Spot UV varnishing.
  • 2010: Expansion of facilities to a combined 230,000 sq. ft. across Hyderabad, with packaging-specific units.
  • 2018: Establishment of a Noida unit to cater to the growing demand for rigid boxes in the mobile and electronics sectors.
